History

Motorsports Evangelism, Inc. and its Team Jesus outreach, began with a vision given to Kim & Paula Grasty in June of 1996. The vision was to bring and exhibit God’s love through His son to the arena of motorsports; primarily professional drag racing.

From their small start of 3 people, going to their first race in October of that year, God has expanded MEI’s tent to include races sanctioned by; NHRA, NASCAR, IRL, IHBA, AMA, SCCA, Good Guys, American LeMans Series, and the Kool April Nites cruise and car show. Venues include Las Vegas Motor Speedway, California Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, and cities such as Redding, Red Bluff, Anderson, Sonoma, and Fontana, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2005 MEI with its Team Jesus outreach entered into a strategic alliance with Infineon Raceway to initiate a Crowd Manager/ Usher program which has grown to cover their entire 50,000 seat facility. MEI’S Team Jesus oversees the training of 150 volunteers to exhibit the Christian principals of integrity and excellence with service in a secular arena to showcase God’s love. In addition they enjoy “no-restriction” ministry opportunities in the four day campground as well as trackside.
